A paper cutter is a major expense and requires careful consideration. Used Polar cutters are much less expensive than new, but are generally just as reliable as long as they are in good condition and maintained properly.
        Used machines dating back to 1960 are available (Model EL), but many of the parts are obsolete for models built before 1968 (although G B Cutter Service does have many parts in stock), and some of the major safety devices were not included until 1972 (Model CE). The CE series was replaced in the early 1980's with the EMC series, the first to have computer control and digital displays.
